How To Ensure Freedom.

In April 2016 a German satire TV show made a song about the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. In this song they outlined some of Erdogan's crimes against humanity. As a result, Erdogan himself demanded that the German ambassador in Turkey makes sure this video would be erased from the entire internet.
Angela Merkel, German Chancellor, defended the piece and with it German freedom of speech, press and art.
In a response to the entire situation Jan Böhmermann, Comedian, made a piece in his own TV show, where he explained the German legal system to Erdogan and gave an example of what would be illegal, telling Erdogan exactly how to take action.
This time, Angela Merkel, German Chancellor, did not defend the piece. She said it was bad taste and apologised to Erdogan, Turkish President, before he even reacted, undermining German freedom of speech, press and art. And also the legal system.
The piece has thus been erased from the internet and Erdogan, the Turkish President, has sued Böhmermann, Comedian, in the way he was advised to do it by Böhmermann, Comedian, and additionally thorugh a law that protects foreign Head of States, which was authorised by Angela Merkel, German Chancellor.
I, Benedikt Päffgen, Künstler, believe there is a better  way. I have sent the following letter to several people connected to this chain of events.

Dear Sir or Madam,

It has recently come to my attention that comedian and satirist Jan Böhmermann is being sued by Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for saying offensive things about his person live on air.

I, Benedikt Päffgen (Künstler), understand the geopolitical ramifications of Böhmermann's actions and have thus fixed the issue by removing the offending sound-track. Feel free to re-upload the now un-problematic footage at your convenience. It is still available on my website www.benediktpäffgen.de

Yours in faith,
